Veerle’s blog

Posted: November 26, 2008 in Blogs, Design

John, thanks for the link to Veerle’s blog – I think it’s a real gem – a beautifully designed blog with a lot of good info. Definitely worth a lengthy browse. Her business site,, is also really fresh and unique.

Myself and a couple of other ‘InDesigners’ have long been thinking about setting up an InDesign User Group in Dublin. As far as we can tell, none exists so far and we just can’t imagine why! It would be a fantastic way for Dublin designers to meet and get to know one another and to share tips and tricks on InDesign and everything else too!

If anyone is interested in helping us create a user group or indeed just attending if we do get one up and running, please leave a comment on this post. The more, the merrier!!

Myself and my colleague are registered to attend Adobe’s Take the Shortcut to Brilliant Dublin event next Thursday (27 November 2008). We’re both registered with Adobe and were notified by email about the tour. Taking place in Cineworld on Parnell Street, the agenda is:

Screen 1

9:30-12:00 CS4 Web Premium

12:15-1:00 Apple Technology Update

2:00-4:30 CS4 Design Premium

Screen 2

9:45-12:15 CS4 Production Premium

1:15-2:00 Apple Technology Update

2:15-4:45 CS4 Master Collection

So if you are a graphic designer, print professional, production/layout artist, web designer/developer make sure you get registered to attend!

I have been meaning to take full control of this blog by buying a proper domain name and installing WordPress as my content management system. But as a print designer through and through, I don’t have much web know-how and was clueless as to how to do this. I was doing a little trawling around this evening and found the answer – an excellent beginner’s ‘walkthrough’ at Find it here. Roll on the Christmas holidays so I can finally get some time to do this!
